Pharmacological properties:
Olaquindox – a derivative of quinoxalin olaquindox (2-(N-2-hydroxyethylcarbamil)-3-methylquinoxalin-1,4-dioxide), has a pronounced antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria (E.coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Proteus spp. etc.).
The mechanism of antibacterial action of the drug consists in violation of the function of DNA-hyrazy, resulting in a disturbance of the bacteria DNA structure, which leads to the death of the microbial cell.
When added to the food preparation inhibits the development of pathogenic microflora, improves the digestibility of feed and the absorption of nutrients.
The preparation stimulates the secretory and enzymatic function of the gastrointestinal tract, which promotes better assimilation of nutrients in the animal and poultry diets, more efficient absorption of feed, accelerates growth and increases the average daily gain.
Olakvindox when administered quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into animal organs and tissues.
The substance is mainly excreted from the body with urine.
Application:
Prevention and treatment in young cattle and poultry of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory organs (gastroenteritis, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, pneumonia, etc.) caused by microorganisms sensitive to Olaquindox.
Increased efficiency of feed use in animal and poultry production and accelerated growth of farm animals and poultry.
Dosage:
Give 250 – 500 grams of the preparation for 2200lb (1000kg) of feed when fattening animals,
– For young cattle, pigs the preparation is applied at the rate of 100 mg per 0.22 lb (1 kg) body weight once a day;
to prevent diseases and stimulate growth – 50 mg per 0.22lb (1 kg) body weight once a day for 10-14 days with breaks between cycles of 7-10 days;
– for poultry the preparation is applied at the rate of 50 mg per 0.22lb (1 kg) body weight, for prevention and growth stimulation – 25 mg per 0.22lb (1 kg) body weight once a day for 10-14 days with breaks between cycles of 7-10 days.
The drug can be used during the whole growth period.
Cautions:
The slaughter of animals and poultry for meat is allowed 2 days after the last application of the preparation. Before group use, the preparation is first applied to a small group of animals.
Storage .
Dry, dark, inaccessible for children at temperatures not exceeding 40F (25°C).
Shelf life – 2 years from the date of manufacture.
