Description
Powder of light yellow colour, well soluble in water.
Composition:
1 gram of the product contains
active ingredients:
Colistin sulfate – 500 000 IU,
Oxytetracycline hydrochloride – 35 mg,
Trimetoprim is 90 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
A complex preparation, whose components, acting synergistically, provide a wide range of antimicrobial action.
Oxytetracycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic. The preparation has a wide spectrum of action on gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Brucella spp., Haemophilus spp.., E. coli, Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Fusobacterium spp., Salmonella spp., as well as on naiyprostatic (Protozoa), mycoplasma spp., rickettsia spp. and chlamydia. The mechanism of action of oxytetracycline consists in violation of protein synthesis in its interaction with ribosomes, as well as in reduction of permeability of cytoplasmic membrane of sensitive microorganisms.
Colistin is an antibiotic from the group of polymixins and has a bactericidal effect on gram-negative microorganisms (e.g., E. soli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp.). The mechanism of action of colistin consists in violation of cytoplasmic membrane integrity of microorganisms. Colistin interacts with phospholipids, destroying the structure of the cell membrane. The permeability of the bacterial membrane changes immediately after contact with the preparation. Colistin binds phospholipid A of cell membranes, neutralizing the biological effect of bacterial endotoxin.
Trimethoprim is a chemotherapeutic preparation that has a bactericidal effect against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp. And others) and gram-negative (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasteurelia spp., Bordetella spp. etc.) microorganisms. It inhibits bacterial reductase, which converts dehydropholic acid into tetrahydropholic acid, necessary for the synthesis of purines and nucleic acids. This trimethoprim blocks one of the main processes of bacterial metabolism in the path of protein synthesis.
Application:
Pigs: treatment of animals with dysentery, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, as well as diseases of the digestive tract and respiratory organs caused by microorganisms sensitive to oxytetracycline, colistine and trimetoprimus.
Rabbits, calves and lambs (up to six weeks old): treatment of animals with enteritis and respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to oxytetracycline, colistine and trimetoprimia.
Poultry (chickens, turkeys, pheasants, geese, ducks): treatment of poultry with mycoplasmosis, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, as well as respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to oxytetracycline, colistine and trimetoprimus.
Dosage:
Oral in dose:
Pigs, poultry (group method) – 2.2lb (1 kg) of the preparation for 1000 liters of drinking water, or 3.3-4.4lb (1.5-2 kg) of the preparation for 2200lb (1000kg) of mixed fodder within 3-5 days;
rabbits – (1-1,5 grams) of the preparation per liter of drinking water for 3-5 days;
calves and lambs (aged up to six weeks), piglets (individually) – 0.5 grams of the preparation per 22lb (10 kg) -2 times a day for 5-7 days.
Contraindications:
Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Do not use chicken laying hens, whose eggs are used as food for people.
Warning: Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to its components:
It is allowed to kill animals and poultry for meat in 10 (calves, lambs, pigs, rabbits) and 7 (poultry) days after the last application of the preparation. The meat received, by the specified period, is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine doctor.
