Composition:
For cats, kittens.
Praziquantela – 5.0 mg/ml,
Pirantela pamoate -15.0 mg/ml,
Application:
Prevention and treatment of nematodes (toxocarosis, toxascariasis, untsinariasis, ankylostomosis, trichocephalosis), cestodoses (echinococcosis, tenidosis, diphyllobotriosis, dipilidiosis, mesocetoidosis) as well as mixed nematode and cestodotic infestations in cats from the age of 2 weeks.
Pharmacological properties:
The suspension has a wide range of antihelminthic effects on all phases of round and strip helminths, including Toxocara canis, Tochosaga mystax, Toxascaris leonina, Trichuris vulpis, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Taenia spp.., Dipylidium caninum, Diphyllobothrium latum, Mesocestoides lineatus and Multiceps multiceps parasitizing in dogs and cats. The mechanism of action of prasiquantel, which is part of the preparation, is a violation of intracellular calcium metabolism in cestodine, the suppression of fumaratreductase, violation of cell membrane permeability of neuromuscular innervation, which causes spastic contraction of helminth muscles and leads to their death.
Pirantela pamoate blocks neuromuscular transmission in nematodes through persistent depolarization of postsynaptic membranes (cholinergic antagonist), which leads to paralysis and death of helminths.
Pirantela pamoate is poorly absorbed, which ensures its prolonged effect on helminths in the intestines and low toxicity to animals.
Dosage:
Give the animal once individually during morning feeding with small amounts of food or forcefully to the root of the tongue with a syringe dispenser in such doses:
For cats 1 ml / 2.2lb (1 kg);
For kittens 1ml / 2.2lb (1 kg)
THE SUSPENSION BOTTLE MUST BE SHAKEN THOROUGHLY FOR 1-2 MINUTES BEFORE USE!
A preliminary hungry diet and the use of laxatives is not required.
For therapeutic purposes, the suspension is prescribed according to indications:
In case of strong infestation it is recommended to repeat deworming after 10 days.
In order to prevent helminths of adult dogs, cats, kittens of puppies in therapeutic doses quarterly, as well as before each vaccination.
Pregnant females are deworming in the second half of pregnancy, lactating – 3 weeks after delivery with caution, under the supervision of a veterinarian.
Contraindications:
The preparation should not be used on pregnant females in the first half of pregnancy, kittens and puppies under 2 weeks of age, or at the same time as products containing piperazine.
Caution .
With increased individual sensitivity to the active ingredients of the drug in some animals, short-term salivation and vomiting are possible, which disappear quickly and do not require symptomatic treatment.
Storage:
Store in a closed container in a place protected from light, separate from food and fodder, at temperatures between 32-77F (0 ° C to +25 ° C).
