Description
White powder with a yellowish tint and specific smell.
Composition
In 1 gram of the drug contains, mg:
iodoform – 50 mg
streptocide – 50 mg
Zinc oxide – 50 mg
Pharmacological properties:
Iodoform is a potent broad-spectrum antiseptic. Under the influence of light, tissue and atmospheric oxygen, tissue juices, iodoform slowly decomposes with the release of pure iodine. Iodine has antimicrobial, deodorizing, anti-inflammatory, resolving effect, promotes granulation and cleaning of wounds.
On the surface of the wound formed iodine albuminates, resulting in astringent and anesthetic effect, prevents irritation of the receptors. Streptocide acts bactericidal. Zinc oxide dries the wound.
Application:
Externally for the treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, in the following diseases: infected and postoperative wounds, ulcers, fistulas, wet eczema, dermatitis, tendovaginitis, phlegmons, lymphadenitis, wounds that are difficult to heal.
Dosage:
Outwardly. Before application, the affected area is cleaned of wool, foreign bodies, exudate, necrotic material. Powder the drug affected skin (1-2 g to 5 cm2 of the affected area) and 2-4 cm around them. Affected areas are treated 1-2 times a day.
Repeated treatment is performed according to surgical indications.
Contraindications
Do not use with hypersensitivity (allergies) to the drug.
Storage
Dry dark room on racks at temperatures from 40-77F (4°C to 35°C) and relative humidity not exceeding 70%.
Do not store together with food products.
Shelf life – 3 years.
