Description:

White, odourless, water-soluble loose powder.

 

 

Composition:

100 grams of the preparation contains:

Sulfadimethoxin – 4 grams;

Trimetoprim – 2 grams;

 

 

Pharmacological properties:

Sulfatrim – a combined chemotherapeutic agent of a wide range of antimicrobial action.
The drug inhibits the metabolism of microorganisms by blocking the synthesis of their DNA and RNA.

Sulfatrime acts bactericidally on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp.., Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium spp., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp. etc.) and is also active against protozoa (Coccidia, Toxoplasma) and rickettsia.

Sulfadimethoxin is an antimetabolite of para-aminobenzoic acid and, like other sulfamides, competently inhibits the synthesis of functional folic acid.

Trimethoprim acts as an inhibitor of the enzyme dihydrofolatreductase, which activates folic acid.

In combination with trimethoprim, the antimicrobial activity of sulfadimethoxin is enhanced.

This combination acts bactericidal already in concentrations in which the individual ingredients exhibit only bacteriostatic activity.

 

 

Application:

Calves, goats, lambs: prevention and treatment of diarrhea, colisepticaemia, streptococcal polyarthritis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, pneumonia, staphylococcal abscesses, omphalitis, and diseases of the respiratory and urinary systems caused by microorganisms sensitive to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin.

Pigs: prevention and treatment of colibacillosis, coccidiosis, atrophic rhinitis, salmonellosis, haemophilesis, pasteurellosis, toxoplasmosis, as well as diseases of the respiratory and urinary systems caused by microorganisms sensitive to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin.

Poultry (chickens on fattening, turkeys on fattening, laying hens and parent stock): prevention and treatment of coccidiosis, colisepticaemia, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, staphylococcal infection, infectious rhinitis and other diseases caused by microorganisms susceptible to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin.

Rabbits: treatment of coccidiosis, pasteurellosis, staphylococcal infection, colibacillosis, salmonellosis and other diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin.

 

 

Dosage:

Oral with drinking water in doses: calves, goats, lambs, pigs – 10 grams of preparation per 88lb (40 kg) body weight every day (10 grams of preparation per 5 liters of drinking water every day) for 5 days; or with feed (60 grams per 22lb (10 kg) of feed).

Rabbits – 8 grams of the preparation per 1 liter of drinking water daily for 5 days;

Poultry (broiler chickens, turkeys, laying hens and parent lines) – 200 grams of the preparation for 100 liters of drinking water, or 8.8lb (4kg) of the preparation for 2200lb (1000kg) of food) for 5 days. In treatment of coccidiosis, the dose is 800 grams of the preparation per 100 liters of drinking water for 3-5 days.

During treatment, water is given only with the drug.

After dissolving the drug in water, the solution should be used within 24 hours.

 

Contraindications:

Do not use animals with hypersensitivity to trimethoprim and sulfadimethoxin, as well as animals with kidney dysfunction. Do not use laying hens whose eggs are used for human food.

 

 

Cautions:

It is allowed to slaughter animals for meat 10 days after the last injection of the preparation. The meat received by the specified date shall be disposed of or fed to non-productive animals depending on the opinion of the veterinary medicine doctor. It is forbidden to eat the eggs of chickens with which the preparation was used.

 

 

Storage:

Dry dark place inaccessible for children at temperatures between 32-86F (0 ° C to 30 ° C). Do not freeze.

Shelf life – 3 years from the date of manufacture.
