Description
The drug is a candle of cylindrical shape, elastic consistency, yellow color.
Composition:
1 suppository (10 grams) contains:
Furazolidone 1 gram
Pharmacological properties:
Furazolidon has a wide range of antimicrobial action.
It is effective against streptococci, staphylococcus, brucelus, clostridium, mycobacteria, trichomonas and a number of microbes resistant to antibiotics and sulfonamides.
Application:
For the prevention and treatment of inflammatory processes of various etiologies in the uterus, cervix, vagina in cattle and small cattle (difficult and pathological births, caesarian section, surgical postpartum, postpartum endometritis).
Dosage:
The external genitalia and the root of the tail are sanitized before the drug is injected.
If necessary, free the uterine cavity from inflammatory exudate.
Introduced, depending on the indications in the uterine cavity, in the cervix or vagina:
for prophylactic purposes in cattle, 2-4 candles;
sheep and goats 1 – 2 candles on the first day after delivery – for therapeutic purposes cattle 3 – 5 candles, sheep and goats 1 – 2 candles every 24 hours until clinical recovery (but not more than 5 times).
The candles are inserted into the cervix by hand, dressed in a single-use polyethylene glove.
If the cervix is already closed, 3-5 candles are dissolved in 200 – 250 ml of boiled water 100-104F (38 – 40 ° C) and the resulting suspension is injected through a catheter.
Cautions:
It is allowed to slaughter animals for meat 2 days after the last injection.
The meat of animals forced to be slaughtered before the specified period expires may be used for feeding carnivorous animals or producing meat and bone meal.
Milk obtained from cows, sheep and goats during the treatment and within 2 days after the last administration of the preparation is used for feeding animals after boiling.
People are allowed to use milk in food 2 days after the last administration of the preparation.
