Composition
1 gram of the preparation contains active substances:
Dipropionate Betamethasone 0.64mg;
Gentamicin sulfate 1.0mg;
Clotrimazole 10.0mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Due to the combination of active substances, the drug has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antibacterial, antifungal action.
Betametazone dipropionatsii – synthetic fluormisnium GCS. It has anti-inflammatory, glucocorticoid, antiallergic, anti-itching effects.
At local application narrows vessels, eliminates itching, slows down the release of inflammatory mediators (eosinophils, fat cells), interleukins 1 and 2, γ-interferon (with lymphocytes and macrophages), inhibits the activity of hyaluronidase and reduces the permeability of the vessel walls.
Clotrimasol belongs to the group of imidazole antifungal drugs. Increases the permeability of the phospholipid liposomes, the vacuumization of cytoplasm, reducing ribosomes.
Clotrimasol is active against: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum sapis, Candida alvicans, Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum orbiculare).
Gentamicin – a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the aminoglycosides group, has a bactericidal effect on Gram-negative bacteria: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aerobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Klebsiella pneumoniae; Gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus aureus.
At external application of a preparation of a cream in therapeutic doses transdermal absorption of active substances in blood is very low.
The use of occlusal bandages significantly increases the transdermal absorption of betamethasone i gentamicin, which may lead to increased risk of systemic side effects.
Application:
For treatment of dermatitis in dogs and cats with severe allergic, inflammatory reactions, itching, hyperemia, edema, infiltration, complicated by secondary bacterial infection;
Fungal skin diseases caused by Microsporum canis, Trichophyton mentagrohytes,
Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis;
lesions by yeast fungi Malassezia furfur.
Dosage:
Cream is used externally, locally. The dose of the drug depends on the area of the affected area. Before applying the cream wool on the affected area is cut off.
Cream should be applied to the affected skin and surrounding areas in a thin layer 2 times a day (morning and evening), gently rubbing into the skin.
After achieving clinical improvement, the frequency of application can be reduced to 1 time per day.
The duration of treatment is determined by the elimination of inflammatory process and negative data of bacterial and / or mycological analysis, cessation of itching, cleansing the skin.
The course of treatment depends on the type and severity of the course of the disease, the effectiveness of therapy and is determined by a veterinary surgeon and is usually 2-4 weeks (no more); between repeated courses a break of at least 20 days is required.
Side effects:
Excessive and prolonged use of the drug on large areas of skin may lead to the manifestation of systemic effects inherent in the use of GCS, namely: oppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system with the development of secondary adrenal insufficiency, symptoms of hypercorticism (weight gain, edema, hypertension, glucosuria, hypokalemia).
Cautions:
Avoid getting the drug in the eyes, open wounds.
Do not apply cream to the skin around the eyes.
