Description
NADA 140-929, Approved by FDA
Composition:
100 ml of the preparation contain
the active ingredient:
Tilmicosine – 30 grams.
Pharmacological properties:
Macrolide antibiotic, acting bacteriostatically, has a wide spectrum of action, is active against most gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria (Mycoplasma gallisepticum, M.synoviae, Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Clostri dium perfringens) and other microorganisms sensitive to thylmicosine.
Tilmicosine acts at the ribosomal level (50S subunit), disrupting the synthesis of bacterial proteins.
Tilmicosine reaches its maximum level in blood after 1 hour. High therapeutic concentration in body tissues is maintained for 3 days. Tilmicosine is concentrated in pulmonary tissue, penetrating intracellularly into alveolar macrophages. It is isolated from the body, mainly with bile, and a small amount – with urine.
Dose and method of administration:
Subcutaneously – once in a dose of 1 ml per 66lb (30 kg) animal body weight (10 mg tilmicosine 2.2lb (1 kg) body weight).
Collect the necessary dose of the drug from a bottle and disconnect the syringe from the needle, leaving the needle in the bottle. If the treatment of a group of animals is planned, the needle should be left in the vial for collection of the drug in subsequent doses. Secure the animal and inject another, separate needle subcutaneously behind the vial. Connect the syringe with the needle and inject into the base of the skin fold.
When using the preparation, it is important for lambs to accurately control their body weight to avoid overdose.
If the dose volume of the preparation at the injection exceeds 20 ml – for cattle or 2 ml – for sheep, it is separated and injected in different places.
Breeding period :
The slaughter of animals for meat is allowed in 7 days after the last application of the preparation. Consumption of milk in food for people is allowed in 4 days after the last use of the preparation. Meat and milk obtained before the specified period shall be disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
Shelf life -2 years.
After the first selection of the preparation from the bottle – 14 days at temperatures from 40-77F (5 to 25 ° C).
Storage:
Store in a dry, dark place inaccessible to children at temperatures between 40-77F (5 to 25 ° C).
