Composition:
1 ml of the preparation contains
the active ingredient:
Kanamycin sulfate – 250 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Kanamycin is an antibiotic that belongs to a group of aminoglycosides. It is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella spp., some species of Proteus spp. and Serratia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Serpulina hyodysenteriae, Mycoplasma spp. Kanamycin binds to the 30S ribosome subunit and blocks the synthesis of proteins in the bacterial cell.
Application:
Treatment of septicaemia, mastitis, abscesses, phlegmons and respiratory, urinary and skin diseases caused by cancerous microorganisms in cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, dogs, cats and poultry (broilers, turkeys).
Dosage:
Intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous slowly in dose:
cattle and horses – 2 ml per 220lb (100kg) body weight once a day;
foals and calves – 2 ml per 110lb (50kg) body weight once a day;
pigs and sheep – 2 ml of the preparation per 110lb (50kg) body weight once a day;
Dogs and cats – 0.1 ml per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight once a day;
poultry (broilers, turkeys) – 0.1 ml of the preparation per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight once a day.
The course of treatment is 3-5 days.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to canamycin. Do not use animals with impaired kidney function, hearing and balance. Do not use simultaneously with other aminoglycosidic antibiotics and antibiotics with nephrotoxic effect (polymixin B, colistine, amphotericin, chloramphenicol, cephalosporins, erythromycin), as well as with myorelaxanths and anesthetics (halothane), sulfonamides, heparin, B vitamins, diuretics (furosemide).
Cautions:
Animal slaughter for meat and consumption of milk for food are allowed, respectively, 6 and 4 days after the last use of the drug. Meat and milk received by the deadline are disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinarian.
Storage:
Dry, dark, inaccessible for children at temperatures ranging from 40-77F (5 ° C to 25 ° C).
Shelf life – 2 years from the date of manufacture.
