Homogeneous oily liquid of dark brown colour with characteristic odour of ichthyol.
Composition:
100 ml of the preparation contain
active ingredients:
Ichthyol – 3.5 grams;
Glucose – 20.0 grams;
Ascorbic acid – 2.0 grams.
Pharmacological properties:
The drug has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties, stimulates metabolism, accelerates tissue regeneration and promotes uterine involution.
Ichthyol bacteriostatically acts on gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli), has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, local anesthetic effect, promotes regeneration of affected uterine tissue.
Ascorbic acid is involved in redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, tissue regeneration, as well as in the formation of steroid hormones. One of the important physiological functions is to participate in the synthesis of collagen and procollagen and to normalize capillary permeability.
Glucose directly affects the course of biochemical processes in tissues, provides energy processes associated with glycolysis, and thus activates the function of internal organs.
Application:
Prevention and treatment of cows in postnatal subinvolutions of the uterus, vaginitis, endometritis.
Dosage:
For prophylactic purposes the preparation is administered in a dose of 10 ml per 220lb (100 kg) to the paravaginal tissue of the pelvic cavity during the first two days immediately after calving and 48 hours later.
For therapeutic purposes, the preparation is injected into paravaginal tissue of pelvic cavity in a dose of 10 ml per 220lb (100 kg) of body weight with an interval of 48 hours until complete recovery.
The drug is injected with a syringe Jeanne, which is connected to the needle Beaver rubber tube (length 70-100 cm).
When injected into the paravaginal tissue of the pelvic cavity, the anterior corner of the rectum (alternately) to the right or left of the anal opening is treated with one of the antiseptic agents according to conventional methods. Cautions:
