PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Danofloxacin is a broad-spectrum chemotherapeutic agent belonging to the 4th generation of fluoroquinolones.
The mechanism of action of danofloxacin is based on deactivation of bacterial enzyme DNA-girase and topoisomerase IV, which leads to inhibition of bacterial DNA replication.
The preparation is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Esherichia soli, Enterobacteriaceae spp.., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus spp., Brucella spp., Bordetella bron chiseptica, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella spp. etc.), mycoplasm.
With parenteral administration, the maximum concentration of danofloxacin in blood is reached after 1 hour on average, the therapeutic concentration is maintained for 24 hours.
Danofloxacin has a high level of distribution in animals.
Thus, the concentrations in tissues and organs are much higher than in serum.
The organs with the highest concentration are the lungs, liver, kidneys, intestines and muscles.
Danofloxacin is partially metabolized in the liver and excreted from the body with urine and bile.
