Description
The line-up:
1 ml of the preparation contains active ingredients:
Cloxacillin sodium salt : 30 mg,
Neomycin sulfate : 15 mg,
Prednisolone : 1 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Mastopred – a combined antimastitis product that includes sodium salt cloxacillin, neomycin sulfate and prednisolone.
Cloxacillin sodium salt is a semi-synthetic antistatic penicillinasoresistant antibiotic of the penicillin group. Cloxacillin is active against the penicillinase-producing strains of Staphylococcus spp., some types of gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.
Neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that has a bactericidal effect on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, in particular E. сoli, Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Salmonellaspp., Enterobacter spp., Serratia spp., Shigella spp., Mycoplasma spp., Staphylococcus spp.
Prednisolone is a dehydrated analogue of hydrocortisone with anti-inflammatory, desensitizing and anti-allergic properties.
Prednisolone, stimulating steroid receptors, induces the formation of a special class of proteins-licorotiniv with anti-edematous activity, reduces capillary permeability and reduces the activity of hyaluronidase.
Application:
Used for the treatment of acute and hyperacute mastitis caused by microorganisms sensitive to the components of the drug in cows during lactation.
Dosage:
Before administering the drug, the affected proportion of udder is carefully passed and aseptic treatment of milking is performed. Preheated to 95-99F (35-37 ° C) and shaken until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, the drug is slowly injected into the milk canal directly from the syringe-tube or using a milk catheter and syringe in a dose of 10 ml. After insertion, a gentle udder fraction massage is performed from the bottom to the top. Repeated injections are performed after evening milking of cows daily for 2-3 days.
Contraindications:
Do not use animals with individual hypersensitivity to antibiotics of penicillin, neomycin sulfate, prednisolone.
Cautions:
During the treatment and within 48 hours after the last injection, milk from the affected udder portion is disposed of in a separate container and disposed of. The slaughter of animals for meat is permitted 7 days after the last administration of the preparation.
