Description
Composition:
100 ml of the preparation contain
active ingredients:
Enrofloxacin – 10 grams;
Colistin sulfate – 100 000 000 IU;
Pharmacological action:
Enrocolin – a complex drug, the therapeutic effect of which is due to the synergistic effect of the active components of the drug: enrofloxacin and colistine sulfate. Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones of the second generation, it prevents the synthesis of DNA in the nuclei of microbial cells. The preparation contains bactericidal action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms (Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacteriaceae spp., Pasteurella spp.., Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus spp., Brucella spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., etc.), and also against mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.) and chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.).
Colistin is an antibiotic of a group of polymixins, which is synthesized by the aerobic spore-forming bacillus polymyxa stick. The preparation has a bactericidal effect on Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli , Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Bordetella spp.). Colistin binds with phospholipids of cytoplasmic membrane, increases its permeability for both intra- and extracellular components, which leads to destruction of bacteria cells.
The drug is quickly absorbed and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body. The maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is reached 2 hours after application. The therapeutic concentration is maintained for 24 hours.
It is excreted from the body with urine, bile and faeces.
Application:
Treatment of cattle, calves (up to 3 months), pigs and poultry with respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin and colistine.
Basic indications for use:
chronic respiratory diseases (Mycoplasma gallisepticum, E. Coli);
infectious synovitis (Mycoplasma synoviae);
Aerosaculites (M. meleagridis);
colibacilllosis (E. coli);
salmonella (Salmonella spp.);
pasteurellosis (Pasteurella multocida);
turkey bordelliosis (Bordetella avium);
face (Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae);
Staphylococcus aureus;
chlamydia psittaci.
