Description
1000ml (Enrofloxacin 10%)
Composition:
1 ml of the preparation contains
the active ingredient:
Enrofloxacin – 100 mg
Pharmacological properties :
Enrofloxacin – part of the drug, refers to antibiotics of fluoroquinolone group, has a wide range of antibacterial action. It is active against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Escherichia coli, Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp.., Salmonella spp., Starsullococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium perfringes, Bordetella bronchiceptica, Campylobacter spp., Corynebacterium pyogenes, Pseudomonas aerugenosa, Proteus spp. and Mycoplasma spp.
Enrofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrus, disrupts DNA synthesis, bacterial growth and division, and causes marked morphological changes (including in the cell wall and membranes), which leads to rapid death of the bacterial cell.
It acts bactericidally on gram-negative microorganisms during rest and division, on gram-positive microorganisms – during division.
Enrofloxacin is quickly absorbed into the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into all animal organs and tissues except for nervous tissue.
The maximum concentration of enrofloxacin in the blood is reached 1-2 hours after application of the drug and is maintained for 6 hours, and therapeutic concentration – for 24 hours.
Enrofloxacin is partially metabolized in the liver with the formation of ciprofloxacin, which also has antibacterial activity.
Fluoroquinolones are excreted from the body mainly with urine and bile.
Indications for use of Enrofloxacin 10% PERORAL APPLICATION solution
For therapeutic and preventive purposes calves, lambs, piglets, chickens and turkeys in diseases whose pathogens are sensitive to enrofloxacin:
– colibacillosis;
– salmonellosis;
– streptococcosis;
– necrotic enteritis;
– hemophilia;
– campylobacterial hepatitis;
– mycoplasmosis;
– mixed infections;
– secondary infections in viral diseases.
The order of application:
The drug is sold out 1 time/day for 3-5 days in the following doses:
– calves, lambs and piglets – 0.5 ml per 2.2lb (10 kg) animal weight;
– broilers, meat turkeys, parent broiler herd – 50 ml per 100 liters of drinking water.
In salmonellosis, mixed infections and in chronic forms of disease in birds, the recommended dose of Enrofloxacin 10% of solution for oral administration is 100 ml per 100 liters of drinking water and the duration of treatment is 5 days.
The solution of the medicine is prepared daily on the basis of the daily water demand of birds. During the course of treatment the poultry should receive only water containing the drug.
Treatment of chickens, broilers, turkeys, geese, ducks with infectious avian rhinitis, necrotic enteritis, staphylococcosis, streptococcosis, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, colibacillosis, campylobacteriosis, hemophilia, pseudomonosis, mycoplasmosis and other diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin.
It is necessary to avoid omissions at the introduction of another dose of the drug, as it may lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficiency. In case of omission of one dose of the drug the use of the drug is resumed in the same dose and according to the same scheme.
Special instructions:
– at individual hypersensitivity of an animal to fluoroquinolones;
– ruminant animals with developed scar digestion;
– laying hens due to the accumulation of enrofloxacin in the egg.
It is allowed to kill calves, lambs and piglets for meat not earlier than 14 days, and poultry – not earlier than 11 days after the last application of the drug. The meat of animals forced to be killed before the deadline may be used as feed for fur animals.
Storage:
Dry, dark, inaccessible for children at temperatures ranging from 40-77F (5° C to 25° C).
Store separately from food and beverages, including animal feed.
