Description
CONTACTS
1 gram of the product contains
the active ingredient:
Tiamulin hydrogen fumarate – 450 mg.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic belonging to the plevromutilin group.
The drug is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms (Brachyspira innocens, Brachyspira pilosicoli, Leptospira spp., Clostridium perfringens, Streptococcus spp., Starsulloccus spp.., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria monocytogenes, Pasteurella multocida, Actinomyces pyogenes, Actinobacillus spp., Fusobacterium spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus spp., Bacteroides spp.., Campylobacter coli, Lawsonia intracellularis) and chlamydia and mycoplasm (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyosynoviae, M. hyorhinis, M. bovis, etc.).
Tiamulin acts at 70S-ribosome level, the main binding site is at 50S-sublevel, and the secondary site is possible at 50S and 30S sublevel. It inhibits protein synthesis by microbes, creating biochemical inactive initiative complexes that prevent the growth of polypeptide chain.
In animals and birds, the preparation is in antibacterial concentrations for 18-24 hours.
Tiamulin reaches its maximum concentration in poultry in 2 hours, and in pigs – in 4 hours after inward application.
It is isolated from the body mainly with faeces.
TARGET ANIMALS
poultry, pigs,
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Treatment of pigs in dysentery, as well as diseases of the respiratory system and joints caused by microorganisms sensitive to tiamulin.
Poultry (broilers, young birds, laying hens, turkeys and turkeys): Treatment of poultry in respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to tiamulin.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Oral with drinking water or food.
Pigs – for the treatment of dysentery, the dose is – 0.02 grams (8.8 mg thiamulin) per 2.2lb (1 kg) of animal body weight per day for 3-5 days, depending on the severity and duration of the infectious disease. The dose is provided with thiamulin concentration in drinking water of 0.006%;
when treating pigs with respiratory diseases caused by M. hyopneumoniae, P. multocida, the dose is 0.033-0.044 g of the preparation (15.0-20.0 mg thiamulin) per 2.2lb (1 kg) of animal body weight per day for 5-10 days. The dose is provided at concentration of tiamulin in drinking water of 0,012 %-0,018 %;
for the treatment of pleuropneumoniae caused by A.pleuropneumoniae, the dose is 0.044 grams of the preparation (20.0 mg thiamulin) per 2.2lb (1 kg) body weight per day for 5-7 days. The dose is provided at concentration of tiamulin in drinking water 0,018 %;
for pigs with mycoplasma hyosynoviae caused by mycoplasma arthritis, the dose is 0.044 grams (20.0 mg tiamulin) per 2.2lb (1 kg) body weight per day for 5-7 days. The dose is provided at concentration of thiamulin in drinking water 0,018 %.
For preparation of working solutions of necessary tiamulin concentrations it is necessary to dissolve the preparation in drinking water according to the calculations given in Table 1.
Table 1.
The concentration of tiamulin in drinking water,% | The amount of water per 100 g of the drug TIAM 45, l | Amount of drug
TIAM 45 per 100 liters of drinking water, g |
0.006 | 750 | 13.3 |
0.012 | 375 | 26.7 |
0.018 | 250 | 40,0 |
0,025 | 180 | 55.6 |
To prepare a large volume of the drug solution, first prepare a concentrated solution (with a maximum concentration of 50-60 grams of the drug per 1 liter of drinking water), and then dilute it to the desired concentration. Fresh solutions of tiamulin should be cooked daily.
Chickens (broilers, young poultry, laying hens and breeding poultry) – to treat respiratory mycoplasmosis of poultry and alveolar saccharolitis caused by M. gallisepticum iM. synoviae, orally at 0.025% tiamulin concentration in drinking water for 3-5 days.
Depending on poultry age, the daily dose of tiamulin at its concentration of 0.025% in drinking water is:
chicken daily dose – 0.28-0.33 grams of the preparation (125-150 mg tiamulin) per kg body weight;
broilers aged up to 4 weeks – 0.07-0.11 grams of the preparation (30-50 mg tiamulin) per 2.2lb (1 kg) of body weight;
chickens under 10 weeks of age – 0.07-0.10 grams of the preparation (30-45 tiaamulin) per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight;
laying hens – 0.055 grams of the preparation (25 mg tiamulin) per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight.
Table 2 below shows the poultry drinking water demand.

Turkeys – for treatment of infectious sinusitis and alveolar sacculitis caused by M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae iM. meleagridis orally with drinking water at 0.025% tiamulin concentration in drinking water for 3-5 days.
Depending on poultry age, the daily dose of tiamulin at a concentration of 0.025% in drinking water is:
1-week bird – 0.16 grams of the preparation (70 mg thiamulin) per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight;
2-4 week birds – 0.11 grams of the preparation (50 mg thiamulin) per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight;
5-8 week birds – 0.055-0.07 grams of the preparation (25-30 mg thiamulin) per 2.2lb (1kg) body weight;
90-20-weekly birds – 0.044 grams of the preparation (20 mg thiamulin) per 2.2lb (1 kg) body weight.
HATCHING PERIOD
It is allowed to slaughter animals and poultry for meat in 4 days (pigs), 2 days (broilers, young poultry, laying hens and breeding poultry) and 5 days (turkeys) respectively after the last application of the preparation. The meat received before this period is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine doctor. There is no period of egg cartridges.
