Description
Application and dosage:
Outwardly prescribed for diseases of the skin (wounds, eczema, burns, dermatitis, furunculosis, pyodermia), subcutaneous tissue and muscles, arthritis, tendinitis, tendovaginitis, bursitis, mastitis in the form of ointment (10-30%) or water-alcohol solutions (10-30%).
Alcoholic and ichthyol solutions (1:25) are widely used as lotions for phlegmons and myositis.
In skin diseases of parasitic origin, including scabies, scabies, ringworm, ichthyol is used as ointment (10-20%), liniment and paste (5-10%).
With the addition of tar, sulfur and creole, the healing effect of scabies and dermatomycosis is increased.
Inside ichthyol is used as an antiseptic and protibrodilnym means in acute scars tympanic, flatulence, functional disorders of the intestines, inflammation of the stomach and intestines, in acute dilation of the intestines in horses (colic).
In acute dilation of the stomach in horses, it is recommended to wash the stomach 1-2% aqueous solution and inside set the alcohol-ichthyol-valerian mixture. Aqueous solutions of ichthyol (1-2%) is prescribed for prolapse and inflammation of the rectum (irrigation in the form of enemas), with large inflammation of the larynx, inflammation of the esophagus.
Inside ichthyol is prescribed in the form of solutions (1-2%), boluses, mixtures, porridge.
Doses of ichthyol inside:
for horses – 10-30 grams;
for cattle – 10-20 grams;
small cattle and pigs, 1-5 grams;
dogs, 0.2-1 grams;
foxes, 0.2-0.5 grams.
In obstetrical practice, it is used for metric, vaginitis, salpingitis in the form of a 3-5% aqueous solution or candles (small animals 0.1-0.3 grams).
For eye washing in the treatment of cattle telasiosis 3-5% solution of ichthyol is used.
Storage:
