Pharmacological action:
Levamisol hydrochloride is a levovating isomer, belongs to the imidazole group and is a biologically active tetramisol derivative.
Braking enzyme acetylcholinestrase, blocks the formation of ATP, affects the neuromuscular system of the parasite, causing muscle contraction and paralysis, which leads to the death of the parasites in the first 12-24 hours after administration.
In the liver of animals, levamisole is transformed into oxymercaptoethylphenyl-imidazolidin, which has a positive effect on the immune system of mammals and birds.
Application:

Haemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., Nematodirus spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Bunostomum spp., Trichurus spp., Strongyloides spp., Dictyocaulus spp..;
– in pigs:
Ascaris spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Trichuris spp., Strongyloides spp., Hystrongylus spp., Metastrongylus spp..;
– by dogs:
Toxocara spp., Toxascaris spp., Ancylostoma spp., Uncinaria spp.
– in birds (chickens, geese, turkeys, pigeons):
Ascaridia galli, Heterakis gallinarum, Capillaria spp., Trichostrongylus spp.
Dosage:
Cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs – once, oral with water or food 1 gram per 22lb (10 kg) body weight.
Birds – Oral with water 3-4 g to 22lb (10 kg) body weight once, or this dose is divided for 3-4 days.
For pigeons – 1 gram of preparation per glass of water. This solution replaces all water for drinking within 3-5 days.
